Sister Barbara Awarded 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award

Sister Barbara

Columbus C.E.O. magazine has honored Sister Barbara, Hahl, CSC, senior vice president of system mission at Mount Carmel, with the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award as part of the magazine’s Health Care Achievement Awards.

The March 2013 issue of the magazine profiled Sister Barbara as part of this honor. The story highlighted her work in leading Mount Carmel’s efforts to provide care for the region’s underserved patients. In the article, Sister Barbara credited all of Mount Carmel’s associates for helping fulfill the organization’s mission “to heal body, mind and spirit, to improve the health of our communities, and to steward the resources entrusted to us.”

“Everybody in our organization is now a mission leader,” she said.

Mount Carmel’s president and chief executive officer, Claus von Zychlin, nominated Sister Barbara for the award.

“When you have somebody with Sister’s acumen and her personality, you can’t help but relay on that and benefit from that. Sister’s out in the community. Sister’s out in the hospital. Sister’s her in our corporate office, and she brings that kind of interested and enthusiasm wherever she goes,” he said in the Columbus C.E.O article.

Sister Barbara received the award at a reception at the Columbus Museum of Art on Feb. 19. You can pick up a copy of the March issue of Columbus C.E.O. on newsstands now.
