Vascular Rehabilitation

If you have peripheral artery disease, one of the most common symptoms is something called intermittent claudication. It’s characterized by persistent cramp-like pain in the lower extremities, which makes it hard to walk. Though exercise may not seem like the way to manage leg pain, physical activity actually helps reduce the symptoms of intermittent claudication. And Mount Carmel offers an expert, medically supervised, outpatient education and vascular rehabilitation program that can help reduce yours, too.

Our Team

The vascular rehabilitation program at Mount Carmel is staffed by a multidisciplinary team that includes registered nurses and an exercise physiologist. Each member of our team has expertise in supervised exercise, and each of our locations is led by a physician medical director who is a board-certified vascular surgeon.

Benefits of Vascular Rehab

Beyond just reducing your symptoms, our vascular rehab program can help you:

  • Improve your ability to walk without pain
