Resident Research Pilot Award

Prior to residency, many physicians do not have the opportunity to lead a research project from start to finish. The Resident Research Pilot Funding Award enables you to:

  • Learn an NIH-style grant funding process
  • Obtain resources to conduct research with meaningful impact
  • Gain experience which can lead to funding from external agencies

The funding cycle begins near the start of the academic year. You will work with a physician faculty mentor to submit a letter of intent. Several weeks later, a full application is completed and then reviewed by a committee of physician investigators, research scientists and foundation representatives. Award winners are notified in late September.
