Brian Pierson, RN, MS, CHWC, named Mount Carmel Grove City President and Chief Operating Officer
November 8, 2024Columbus, Ohio – Mount Carmel has announced Brian Pierson, RN, MS, CHWC, as president and chief operating officer of Mount Carmel Grove City. He begins this role effective immediately as he was already serving as interim president and chief operating officer. Brian has over 24 years of experience in healthcare, serving in various leadership and clinical roles, including Vice President of Community Health and Well-Being and Hospice/Palliative Care.

Brian’s career at Mount Carmel Health System includes almost a decade of experience as Director and Clinical Manager of Medical Transportation before moving to the Community Health and Well-Being program, where he was promoted in 2020 to Vice President. In this role, he conceptualized and led the internationally acclaimed street medicine program, developed community-based initiatives, and was recognized for this work with the 2019 Community Champion Award from Governor Mike Dewine.
While serving as interim president, Brian has already worked to improve key performance drivers, including staffing productivity, length of stay, quality, and safety. As president and COO, Brian brings visionary leadership and a focus on high-performance operations, positioning Mount Carmel Grove City for sustained growth and excellence in healthcare.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Science in Business Psychology from Franklin University and is a Registered Nurse and Certified Health and Wellness Coach. Brian serves on the boards of Concord Counseling, the Franklinton Board of Trade, The First Responder’s Bridge, the Lower Lights Christian Health Center, and the Physicians Care Connection. Brian was recognized as a Columbus CEO Future 50 in 2022, the Catholic Health Association Achievement Citation in 2019, and a Columbus Business First Healthcare Hero in 2014.
