Mount Carmel's commitment to medical informatics training is evident in our program. The entire Mount Carmel health system uses Epic, a web-based electronic medical record (EMR) system. All patient chart information is located in the EMR. The EMR also permits automatic prescription faxing to local pharmacies, among other innovative features. All other major hospitals in the Columbus area also use Epic, which facilitates ease of communication between systems.
