How We Hire
We’re always looking for great people to join our team, and if you meet the minimum qualification for a position, we encourage you to apply. The below process does not have specific timelines associated with it, as some positions may move very quickly and others may take longer depending upon the business need.
- Apply online. After you do, you can log in and check your status. You may be contacted to participate in a phone interview.
- If you’re chosen for an interview, we’ll contact you to set up a time. Whether it's in person or by video chat, one-on-one or with a panel, we want to get to know you beyond your resume and see how you fit with our culture and business goals.
- If we extend an offer, we’ll discuss a starting salary and you’ll receive a verbal job offer. If you accept (congratulations!), we’ll send you a complete offer package.
Please note that we will conduct a thorough background investigation (including a criminal background check and verification of education and previous employment) and a pre-employment drug screen before you start. Any offers extended are contingent upon successfully completing both of the above.
What are the next steps after I apply for a position? Should I follow up?
We’re excited to see every application that comes to us. Upon submission, your application will be considered for the position. During this process, you can track the status of your application by logging in to your account (link to Workday). A Mount Carmel team member will contact you if you’re selected to be considered for the position. Our goal is to match the very best candidate for each position.
If I upload a resume, do I still need to fill out the application?
Yes, please. We want to give you every chance to make sure all the information we have on your application is correct and showcases your skills and experience.
Do I need a separate application for each position?
Yes! Filling out a separate application for each position you’re interested in gives you the opportunity to highlight different skills and experience relevant to different positions. Once you’ve registered, most of your basic information will carry over to each application. We encourage you to check it thoroughly each time. Filling out multiple applications shouldn’t take too much time or be too difficult.
What if I've applied before?
Once you’ve registered, most of your information will carry over to new applications, but you will need to apply for each position you’re interested in. This gives you the chance to update any information that may have changed since you last applied, as well as add any new skills and experience that may translate best to that position.
Can I apply for more than one position at a time?
You can, but we look for applicants who have a true passion for what they do so we can try to match them with positions they’ll love. That’s why we prefer that you have no more than ten (10) active positions that you have applied for that meet your interests and that you have the correct qualifications for.
Can I update my application?
Once your application has been submitted, it cannot be changed. However, you can update your application for every new position you apply for. Due to system limitations e-mail addresses can never be updated.
Mount Carmel's Nurse Residency Program lasts for for two years rather than one. This program helps new nursing school grads build their skills and knowledge while supporting their competence and confidence. Facilitators guide monthly discussions, serve as experienced nurse experts, and guide our residents’ evidence-based project efforts.
Throughout the program, you’ll have opportunities to work with our expert colleagues and subject-matter experts while focusing on things like skill enhancement, critical-thinking application and career development. During the second year of the program, you’ll work individually with our nurses to identify learning needs and goals while focusing on your career development. With the Mount Carmel Nurse Residency program, you’ll be part of a program that supports your academic-to-practice transition while supporting your career growth.
If you're searching for your first nursing job, we provide a welcoming environment, enhanced support for the transition from college to practice, and the chance to put your abilities to the test and find the position that will help you advance in your career. At Mount Carmel, you’ll spend your entire career being challenged, growing, developing, supporting new innovations and learning every day. And with the spectrum of opportunities – outpatient, hospice, population health, insurance, academia and more – your career can be as varied as the work you do.
We strive to give new graduates all the support they need to grow, which is why we prefer they not apply to positions marked “experienced candidates.
Your professional life is important, but it’s just one part of your life. At Mount Carmel we want to provide a comprehensive array of competitive compensation and health and wellness programs that will help you live your whole life.
