Mount Carmel East has earned Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification – the highest level of stroke certification available – from The Joint Commission and American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. To earn this coveted recognition, hospitals must be capable of diagnosing and treating the most complex stroke cases.
5 Stars for Quality Outcomes, Safety & Patient Satisfaction from CMS
In 2017, both Mount Carmel St. Ann's and Mount Carmel New Albany were two of only 227 hospitals nationwide to receive five stars for quality outcomes, safety and patient satisfaction scores from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. In 2016, Mount Carmel New Albany was one of only 151 hospitals nationwide to receive this recognition.
2017 Mission: Lifeline® Receiving Center Gold Plus Achievement Award
Mount Carmel East and Mount Carmel St. Ann's received the Mission: Lifeline® Receiving Center Gold Plus Achievement award. Both were recognized for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of STEMIs.

Sisters of the Holy Cross Awarded the Civil War Campaign Medal
The Sisters of the Holy Cross, who founded Mount Carmel, were awarded the Civil War Campaign Medal in recognition of the order's service during the American Civil War from 1861-1865.

The Medical-Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Mount Carmel West and the Intensive Care Unit at Mount Carmel St. Ann's both received the AACN American Association of Critical-Care Nurses Silver Beacon Award for Excellence™.

Mount Carmel received two 2015 Excellence Awards from the Mid-Ohio Foodbank: Director's Choice Award and Most Meals Per Capita – Largest Percentage Increase in the large organization category. Final totals show that we raised $17,284.25
2014 Lifeline of Ohio S.T.A.R. Award
The staff in the MCICU/SICU Mount Carmel West was awarded the 2014 Lifeline of Ohio S.T.A.R. award. Lifeline of Ohio gives this award to hospital units that demonstrate exemplary Service, Teamwork, Attitude and Respect in the organ, eye and tissue donation process.
