Thank you for your interest in Mount Carmel Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Our program is built on a shared commitment to outstanding patient care and the desire to nurture the careers of an exceptional group of young physicians. Our primary goal is to identify a group of interns who will be valued team members and additions to the Mount Carmel family. We look for applicants who value professionalism and teamwork, and who are eager to embrace increasing amounts of patient care responsibility. Our residents have a strong academic record and a wide range of interests with excellent academic potential.
All applicants must submit their application and supporting documents through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service).
Positions: 9 Categorical Internal Medicine Resident positions per year
Application Process: All applicants must apply through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service).
Application Requirements (due by December 1st):
- Common Application Form (CAF)
- Medical school transcript
- Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE, “Dean’s Letter”)
- Three letters of recommendation
- Personal statement
- Passing scores on USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 or COMLEX Level 1 and Level 2 ·
- International Graduates:
- ECFMG certification
- U.S. clinical experience is strongly preferred
- Must be permanent residents or United States Citizens as we do not accept any type of visa.
Selection Process:
- Applications are reviewed holistically for best fit.
- Interview invitations are extended directly through the Thalamus platform. All interviews are virtual.
- Interviews are granted on a rolling basis.
- Status updates are not provided by phone, and we do not contact applicants who are not selected for an interview.
- Open Houses will be offered periodically throughout the interview season for interviewees to come meet the residents and see the Hospital in-person.
