Rotation Sites

Mount Carmel Grove City

As residents, you have the opportunity to rotate through three teaching hospitals, Mount Carmel Grove City, Mount Carmel St. Ann’s, and Mount Carmel East. View a map of rotation locations here.

Mount Carmel Grove City

Mount Carmel Grove City is the newest hospital in our system, opening in 2019 as the first full-service hospital in the rapidly growing Grove City community. With 210 private rooms and a beautifully designed campus, it serves as our primary inpatient teaching hospital and the headquarters for much of our Graduate Medical Education program. Grove City offers a diverse patient population that reflects the surrounding community, giving residents a broad and balanced clinical experience. It is also a place where resident autonomy is emphasized, allowing trainees to take meaningful ownership of patient care decisions and develop confidence as independent clinicians within a supportive environment.

Mount Carmel St. Ann's

Mount Carmel St. Anns

Mount Carmel St. Ann’s has a long history of serving the community and today is a 281-bed hospital located in Westerville. It is home to our residency’s Academic Accountable Care Unit (AACU), a forward-thinking model of inpatient medicine that emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration and team-based care. On this service, residents lead patient care while working closely with nurses, pharmacists, case managers, and other team members, creating an experience that mirrors the future of hospital medicine. St. Ann’s combines the warmth and familiarity of a community hospital with the resources and support of a large health system, offering residents an ideal opportunity to take ownership of their patients while practicing in a highly collaborative environment.

Mount Carmel East

Mount Carmel East

Mount Carmel East has been a cornerstone of healthcare in Columbus for more than 50 years and now houses nearly 420 beds. It is the center of our program’s critical care training and serves as our primary ICU teaching site. Residents rotate through the Neuro ICU, Cardiac ICU, and Medical ICU, gaining exposure to patients with some of the highest acuity and greatest complexity in the system. The hospital’s advanced services, including interventional pulmonology, interventional gastroenterology, and a wide range of surgical and medical specialties, ensure that residents experience the full breadth of multidisciplinary care. Mount Carmel East provides an environment where residents are challenged to think critically, manage complex cases, and refine the skills necessary for high-level critical care practice.
