Mount Carmel Announces Affiliation with The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute at its Grove City campus

The collaboration will expand high-quality, evidenced-based cancer care across the region

GROVE CITY (November 23, 2021) -- Mount Carmel Health System today announced plans to further strengthen its oncology program at Mount Carmel Grove City through an affiliation with The James Cancer Network at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute’s (OSUCCC – James), effective Jan. 1, 2022.

Together with The James Cancer Network, Mount Carmel physicians and clinicians will have access to additional research, quality improvement programs and tumor boards that will expand the health system’s existing capabilities for cancer care. Mount Carmel Grove City’s state-of-the-art Cancer Center has become known for its exceptional patient care; now, the center will offer medical oncology services to further advance its impact and care experience. In addition to the radiation oncology and cancer services already provided by Mount Carmel, we will now offer medical oncology through The James Cancer Network in our Cancer Center, which enhances the continuum of care for patients and makes it easier for patients to receive convenient, high-quality cancer care in their community.

Bringing the expertise of The James Cancer Network to Mount Carmel Grove City enables patients to have coordinated access to cancer subspecialists and clinical research, expands the scope and services of the oncology program at Mount Carmel and ensures the community can receive cancer care in Grove City minimizing the need for travel and discomfort.

Currently, Mount Carmel’s Cancer Center in Grove City offers diagnostic services and integrated, multidisciplinary care for all types of cancers, performing more than 35,000 outpatient treatments, 3,500 inpatient treatments and 2,600 cancer surgeries each year.
