Columbus, Ohio - Mount Carmel Health System is excited to announce the grand opening of its state-of-the-art emergency department at Mount Carmel New Albany, designed to provide the latest in emergency care technology while ensuring patient comfort. Set to be fully operational October 22, 2024, this expansion marks a significant step in Mount Carmel’s ongoing commitment to meet the comprehensive healthcare needs of the rapidly growing New Albany community.

The new emergency department offers eight treatment rooms, including eight emergency rooms capable of handling a comprehensive range of critical medical situations. This innovative facility was designed to offer advanced medical care and enhance the patient experience with comfort and accessibility in mind.

The expansion will be celebrated with a Community Open House on Saturday, October 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to welcome the community and showcase the new Emergency Department. The Open House will feature various family-friendly activities, including food trucks, face painting, caricatures, a mobile learning coach offering CPR and Stop the Bleed training, and touch-a-truck experiences with a medical helicopter and fire truck.

Located within the 117,668-square-foot facility, Mount Carmel New Albany also provides 24/7 access to lab and radiology services. The addition of the emergency department complements the hospital’s comprehensive care offerings.
