Breast Health

Mount Carmel's Women's Health Centers are accredited breast centers according to the Natonal Accreditation Program for Breast Centers

One in every eight women has a chance of developing breast cancer during her lifetime. Take charge of your breast health with the comprehensive breast health program at Mount Carmel.

The program puts you at the center of your care – beginning with education, prevention and screening. It starts with learning breast self-exam techniques and receiving an annual mammogram – both of which you can do at one of our Women's Health Centers. And if an abnormality is found, it ensures you’ll have seamless, compassionate care from diagnosis to treatment and recovery from our expert team of physicians, technologists and nurse navigators.

Nurse Navigators

Information and support are two of the most important and empowering things you can receive when you have breast health concerns.  And that’s exactly what Mount Carmel’s Breast Imaging Nurse Navigators provide.

Dense Breast Tissue

While all breasts are made up of fat and breast tissue, not all breasts have the same combination of the two. Some breasts have more fat than breast tissue, while others have more breast tissue than fat.

Diagnostic Procedures

Should you need advanced diagnostic services, Mount Carmel has a number of options available to you and some of the top medical professionals in each discipline to administer your tests and interpret the results.

Your Breast Team

Expertise is critical when it comes to breast cancer care. Mount Carmel has board-certified physicians with the kind of experience you can count on. Our Breast Disease Management Team includes all of the disciplines necessary to provide comprehensive, coordinated care.

Cancer Care Boutique

Breast cancer can not only change your life, it can affect your self-image. And with all you're going through, something as simple as feeling like yourself again can be transformative. At Mount Carmel Images for Women, we understand. And we can help.

Mammography

The health experts at Mount Carmel continue to recommend annual screening mammograms for all women beginning at age 40. It's the best way to detect cancer early, when it's most treatable.
