Should you need advanced diagnostic services, Mount Carmel has a number of options available to you and some of the top medical professionals in each discipline to administer your tests and interpret the results.

Breast Ultrasound

We offer full-service breast ultrasound in the comfort of our Women’s Health Centers. And while it doesn’t replace a mammogram, an ultrasound can help further evaluate something seen on a mammogram.

Breast Biopsy

We also offer a variety of minimally invasive options for breast biopsies, including stereotactic, ultrasound-guided, and MRI-guided breast biopsies – all of which can be performed on an outpatient basis. Breast biopsy is available at our Women's Health Centers.

Abbreviated Breast MRI

For patients at moderate risk for breast cancer or with dense breast tissue who would benefit from a supplemental screening with higher sensitivity than a mammogram, Mount Carmel is now offering abbreviated Breast MRI. It’s a rapid breast MRI offered at a lower price that can detect cancers not visible on a typical mammogram. To learn more, click here.

Breast MRI

A breast MRI is another state-of-the-art imaging procedure we offer. It’s a high-tech way to visualize the breast tissue and distinguish between non-cancerous and malignant abnormalities without using radiation or invasive procedures.
